So I'm talking to a customer today who was looking for eau de Perfume. She was looking at the Burberry Brit for woman which we carry in both the perfume and toilette versions. She was wondering why the eau de perfume was pricier than the eau de toilette. The reason is that eau de perfume contains more perfume oil than toilette. Perfume is more concentrated, lasts longer, and is pricier than toilette. Toilette is less intense, contains less perfume oil, and doesn't last as long as perfume. Toilette is the most popular of the two and is more readily available than perfume.
I prefer toilette to perfume because it's less intense and my body chemistry does not work well some perfumes. For example, I can wear Burberry Brit in the eau de toilette version but not the eau de perfume. The intensity of the perfume turns the Brit from a lovely fragrance in the eau de toilette to a really unpleasant one when I wear the eau de perfume.
The choice between eau de perfume and eau de toilette is a personal one. My co-worker prefers eau de perfume to eau de toilette. I've seen a lot of customers who prefer the reverse. But when it all comes down to it, it's all a matter of personal choice.
